The conference will bring together participants with different professional and personal backgrounds, experiences and views, thus enabling a diverse programme with different perspectives on the conference theme. In order to make the conference as safe as possible for all participants, the following awareness actions will help to strengthen considerate behaviour at our conference.

  For a safe way home, we offer collection points and times for accompanying people from the conference venue to accommodation on Thursday and Friday evenings. Specific times will be announced on site.

• Code of Conduct
  We ask that you take note of and comply with the Code of Conduct for our conference, which you can download below. By participating in the conference you agree to respect this Code of Conduct.

• Awareness Team
  
  An awareness team will be available for you during the conference. You will find information on how to reach them by phone and at their location at the beginning of the conference.

Travelling to Siegen

The conference will take place at the University of Siegen, Campus Unteres Schloss. Just a 10-minute walk from the main train station, it is located directly opposite the Museum of Contemporary Art. For a journey by train, we recommend Siegen Hbf as destination.

There are four airports in the vicinity of Siegen worth considering: Cologne Bonn Airport (1.5-2 hrs by train), Frankfurt Airport (2-2.5 hrs by train), Düsseldorf Airport (2-3 hrs by train) and Dortmund Airport 21 (2-3 hrs by train).

Accommodation

A limited number of rooms has been reserved at the Hotel Amedia for the duration of the conference from September 14 to 16. These rooms can be booked by conference participants at a reduced rate of 84 EUR/incl. breakfast.

After July 31, the reservation of the rooms ends. If there are still rooms available after this date, they can still be booked at a reduced rate for conference participants.

Further accommodation options close to the conference venue: Hotel Concorde, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Bürger,Hotel-Gasthof Meier and further options via AirBnB.

Students have the additional opportunity to make use of private accommodation. Students of the University of Siegen have kindly offered to provide beds and/or sofas free of charge. We’d like to invite you to our Student Mixer as an opportunity for all students at the conference to socialize and settle in together. Students of the University of Siegen have made some preparations and snacks will be available. Feel free to come by – we look forward to meeting you!
